Slush event in Helsinki is one of the world’s largest gatherings of VC, featuring 2,600 investors, 4,600 startup founders and operators, representing $1 trillion in assets under management, hosting 400 media representatives, and over 12,000 attendees.
Alex Briu, COO of TeQatlas, gives his insights and shares the main takeaways from Slush 2022.
Slush is the top destination for Nordic startups and investors, you basically know everyone around. That said, many EU ecosystems are presented there, including thematic startups from different countries. Additionally, there is a great investor/investee ratio compared to other similar events: 2 000 investors and 4 000 startups.
The matchmaking app works fine, allowing everyone to find someone they are actively looking for. Remember to book a meeting 3-4 weeks in advance since the last-minute meeting requests at Slush wouldn’t work. As for the other events, you need to do your homework and prepare the pitching ahead of time.
